Who Holds Your Arms Up!
Life has a way of wearing us down. Sometimes this world will truly grind you into dust, and there are moments when you simply don't have the strength to keep your arms up.
So who holds them up?
In this episode of the Bumper Sticker Wisdom Podcast, we talk about the importance of community, friendship, church, and having people in our lives who are willing to stand beside us when we're struggling.
We look at the story of Moses, Aaron, and Hur in Exodus 17 and what it teaches us about supporting one another. Moses couldn't keep his arms raised forever. When he became tired, Aaron and Hur came alongside him and held his arms up.
Maybe that's what community is supposed to look like.
Not people who have everything figured out. Not people who are always strong. Just people willing to stand with each other when the battle gets heavy.
We also talk about how God has been changing our perspective on church and community, what it means to be there for the people around us, and why success isn't always about how many people you reach. Sometimes helping just one person is enough.
Because all of us will eventually have a moment when we can't hold our arms up anymore.
The question is: Who will be there to hold yours up?
🎙️ Bumper Sticker Wisdom Podcast A conversation about faith, life, and growth, hosted by two friends who are learning as they go.
Honest conversations. Real life. Faith without the pretense.
Because we believe in presenting a perfect man in a not-so-perfect way.
00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:02.200
Two people are better off than one, for they
00:00:02.200 --> 00:00:05.419
can help each other succeed. If one person falls,
00:00:05.719 --> 00:00:08.160
the other can reach out and help. But someone
00:00:08.160 --> 00:00:11.939
who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise,
00:00:12.400 --> 00:00:14.519
two people lying close together can keep each
00:00:14.519 --> 00:00:20.019
other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A
00:00:20.019 --> 00:00:22.260
person standing alone can be attacked and defeated,
00:00:22.300 --> 00:00:25.300
but two can stand back to back and conquer. Three
00:00:25.300 --> 00:00:28.460
are even better, for a triple braided cord is
00:00:28.460 --> 00:00:58.670
not easily broken. Hello everyone, welcome to
00:00:58.670 --> 00:01:02.070
our small group bumper sticker wisdom, I am John
00:01:02.070 --> 00:01:06.390
I'm Terry so nice to have you. I will say a quick
00:01:06.390 --> 00:01:09.930
prayer and then we will get started Heavenly
00:01:09.930 --> 00:01:12.549
father we as always thank you for this opportunity
00:01:12.549 --> 00:01:15.209
for this time for the means and the The motive
00:01:15.209 --> 00:01:17.230
to do it, Father God, we just want to uplift
00:01:17.230 --> 00:01:19.049
anybody who's listening right now, Father God,
00:01:19.049 --> 00:01:21.069
and anybody who's not listening, that they be
00:01:21.069 --> 00:01:23.829
guided to a place where they can come into relationship
00:01:23.829 --> 00:01:26.890
with you, Father God, because we stand firm and
00:01:26.890 --> 00:01:29.530
confident knowing that relationship with you
00:01:29.530 --> 00:01:32.469
is the only way, Father God. We love you, we
00:01:32.469 --> 00:01:34.090
thank you for your purpose, and it's in Jesus'
00:01:34.230 --> 00:01:39.150
name we pray, amen. How you doing? Good, you?
00:01:40.030 --> 00:01:41.730
I was pretty good up until about three minutes
00:01:41.730 --> 00:01:47.219
before we started. She's mean to me, y 'all.
00:01:48.359 --> 00:01:53.780
I quit. No, you don't. I will never quit. I am
00:01:53.780 --> 00:01:56.859
far too stubborn for all of that. You are. And
00:01:56.859 --> 00:02:04.239
I like to call it stubborn willed. Stubborn willed.
00:02:05.079 --> 00:02:07.719
I was trying to not put such a negative connotation.
00:02:08.060 --> 00:02:11.639
Oh, I'm sorry. I apologize. I don't give up easy.
00:02:11.919 --> 00:02:15.439
I would say that. No, you do not. I've had my
00:02:15.439 --> 00:02:19.599
ass kicked many many times in life and Still
00:02:19.599 --> 00:02:24.439
you are still here cat cat Williams said you
00:02:24.439 --> 00:02:28.120
know All the all the things in your life that
00:02:28.120 --> 00:02:29.599
you didn't think you were gonna get through and
00:02:29.599 --> 00:02:32.060
here you are today All those things if you think
00:02:32.060 --> 00:02:33.960
back you look at them and you examine it and
00:02:33.960 --> 00:02:37.139
think about all the things Those are the things
00:02:37.139 --> 00:02:41.039
that make you just like every superhero that
00:02:41.039 --> 00:02:44.039
you know Every hero in your life every every
00:02:44.039 --> 00:02:46.300
person that you or a character that you look
00:02:46.300 --> 00:02:48.719
at as a hero You're just like them in that way
00:02:48.719 --> 00:02:52.740
because they've all overcome Is your favorite
00:02:52.740 --> 00:02:56.960
superhero Oh good question, uh Man, I have that's
00:02:56.960 --> 00:03:01.599
tough If I were being straight honest, I love
00:03:01.599 --> 00:03:05.280
a lot of different superheroes. I love Wolverine
00:03:05.280 --> 00:03:08.960
Hulk spider -man I love all those but my very
00:03:08.960 --> 00:03:13.259
first hero was Superman When I was a kid, I loved
00:03:13.259 --> 00:03:17.520
Superman He was a man. It's funny cuz like cars.
00:03:17.599 --> 00:03:21.280
They care to be good because Superman have powers
00:03:21.280 --> 00:03:26.120
He has all the powers man. Yes. He's got lasers.
00:03:26.300 --> 00:03:30.979
He has strong he's fast and he was like Okay,
00:03:30.979 --> 00:03:35.699
I want to be Superman So there are there are
00:03:35.699 --> 00:03:37.900
entities in the comic book universe not in the
00:03:37.900 --> 00:03:40.900
real world obviously there are Characters and
00:03:40.900 --> 00:03:42.819
entities that are more powerful than Superman,
00:03:42.819 --> 00:03:46.280
but only but only a few they're not many and
00:03:46.280 --> 00:03:49.740
this this is coming from people who are true,
00:03:50.039 --> 00:03:53.719
true comic book nerds, like they know all the
00:03:53.719 --> 00:03:57.500
stories. They know it all. Scott McFarland, I
00:03:57.500 --> 00:03:59.580
think Scott McFarland. Yeah, Scott McFarland
00:03:59.580 --> 00:04:02.300
was an animator. Todd McFarland, not Scott McFarland,
00:04:02.479 --> 00:04:06.960
Todd McFarland. He is the creator of Deadpool.
00:04:07.319 --> 00:04:12.620
He's also was an animator for for Stan Lee as
00:04:12.620 --> 00:04:15.939
Spider -Man. He he. I know, but one of the most
00:04:15.939 --> 00:04:22.160
I can't. iconic come on dude freaking nature
00:04:22.160 --> 00:04:29.680
uh iconic covers to a comic book was and uh drawn
00:04:29.680 --> 00:04:34.000
drawn by todd mcfarland uh it aiden actually
00:04:34.000 --> 00:04:35.819
has the t -shirt it's the one where there's all
00:04:35.819 --> 00:04:39.139
the spider webs on and spiders and stuff it's
00:04:39.139 --> 00:04:43.819
one of the most iconic comic book covers in history
00:04:43.819 --> 00:04:47.360
a great animator but anyway at the end of the
00:04:47.360 --> 00:04:49.259
day that's the kind of people i'm talking about
00:04:49.259 --> 00:04:52.980
that would know like comic book character versus
00:04:52.980 --> 00:04:56.060
comic book character yeah we love big bang theory
00:04:56.060 --> 00:04:58.920
right so like we we love we listen to them debate
00:04:58.920 --> 00:05:04.819
and like the people really live like you know
00:05:04.819 --> 00:05:08.379
girls go oh what they walk into the comic store
00:05:08.379 --> 00:05:12.300
and they're like oh yeah do they like about comment
00:05:12.410 --> 00:05:13.910
Books and they're like this and they're like,
00:05:14.069 --> 00:05:16.209
oh no, no, no, don't wait. Yeah, it makes you
00:05:16.209 --> 00:05:18.550
laugh They turned into them by the end of the
00:05:18.550 --> 00:05:22.410
episode, right and uh Yeah, I think it's a fun
00:05:22.410 --> 00:05:26.029
thing to do. Um At the end of the conversation
00:05:26.029 --> 00:05:29.430
none of those compared to what a true god is
00:05:29.430 --> 00:05:32.529
right and our true god can overtake any one of
00:05:32.529 --> 00:05:36.170
them absolutely, so I Think it's fun to talk
00:05:36.170 --> 00:05:38.610
about. You know what I mean? And it's I like
00:05:38.610 --> 00:05:40.709
working with kids and as a matter of fact This
00:05:40.709 --> 00:05:42.750
Sunday was the first time I've been in there.
00:05:42.750 --> 00:05:45.069
I've been in it with elementary kids in at least
00:05:45.069 --> 00:05:47.910
a month. And I think it went well. I thought
00:05:47.910 --> 00:05:51.350
it went well. Good. Did my angel help you? Which
00:05:51.350 --> 00:05:55.750
one? My little pocket angel. I think I was going
00:05:55.750 --> 00:05:57.970
to be good without it. I know you were, but I
00:05:57.970 --> 00:06:01.029
wanted you to have some more, you know, I prayed
00:06:01.029 --> 00:06:04.290
over it before I handed it to you. Maybe. I don't
00:06:04.290 --> 00:06:08.129
know. Ask Lacey Huddleston how it went. OK, I
00:06:08.129 --> 00:06:11.550
will text her and ask her. So, I don't know,
00:06:11.850 --> 00:06:16.009
I got, I talked about, it was easy to relate,
00:06:16.470 --> 00:06:19.250
easily relatable for me to relate to kids because
00:06:19.250 --> 00:06:23.250
it was about Jesus when he was 12 and he got
00:06:23.250 --> 00:06:25.050
left in the temple and his parents left him behind.
00:06:25.110 --> 00:06:28.750
Oh, yes. Right? And one of the things I said,
00:06:29.009 --> 00:06:32.269
which kind of got their interest was, okay, so
00:06:32.269 --> 00:06:34.029
we all know who Jesus is, right? We all know
00:06:34.029 --> 00:06:35.730
he lives a perfect life, blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:06:36.290 --> 00:06:37.990
Do you think his parents were ever upset with
00:06:37.990 --> 00:06:43.300
him? And they're all like No, it's perfect. No.
00:06:43.579 --> 00:06:45.800
Yes, they were upset with him They were very
00:06:45.800 --> 00:06:48.920
upset in that moment, right? Because, and look,
00:06:49.100 --> 00:06:51.560
it's not described biblically, but I'm a parent,
00:06:51.600 --> 00:06:54.500
you're a parent. I told the story to these kids
00:06:54.500 --> 00:06:58.220
about when my oldest disappeared in a store while
00:06:58.220 --> 00:07:00.360
we were on the road, like we weren't at home,
00:07:00.839 --> 00:07:02.720
and he disappeared. Do you remember the clothes
00:07:02.720 --> 00:07:04.240
racks? Yes, I remember those clothes racks. He
00:07:04.240 --> 00:07:06.019
disappeared into the clothes rack, and we had
00:07:06.019 --> 00:07:09.079
no clue, and there was this really, this is so
00:07:09.079 --> 00:07:12.740
not right, and it was so judgmental of me. There's
00:07:12.740 --> 00:07:17.939
a very weird couple There and they felt like
00:07:17.939 --> 00:07:20.399
they took an interest right and like next thing
00:07:20.399 --> 00:07:23.019
I know he's gone and then their vehicle is gone.
00:07:23.019 --> 00:07:25.420
They were in a camper, right? So I'm like, oh
00:07:25.420 --> 00:07:29.519
we're on I -40 like yeah, I felt like gone. He's
00:07:29.519 --> 00:07:31.420
gone. He's gone You know, I mean and then I hear
00:07:31.420 --> 00:07:40.259
a little I Recognize that oh, dude I didn't I
00:07:40.259 --> 00:07:45.920
was so angry. I didn't touch him. He, he is probably
00:07:45.920 --> 00:07:48.699
one of the most emotional things ever happened.
00:07:49.500 --> 00:07:51.060
I'm looking at him in the rear view mirror and
00:07:51.060 --> 00:07:53.120
he's just got one tear coming down his eyes.
00:07:54.279 --> 00:07:57.319
Like when I pulled up, he was in that clothes
00:07:57.319 --> 00:08:02.720
rack. I go, and he's just like, I was like, I'm
00:08:02.720 --> 00:08:06.250
going to murder this child. Think about that
00:08:06.250 --> 00:08:08.189
though and then think on top of the fact that
00:08:08.189 --> 00:08:11.290
it wasn't just a few this was ten minutes You
00:08:11.290 --> 00:08:13.750
know what I mean? Jesus had been missing for
00:08:13.750 --> 00:08:18.250
three days you know what I mean, and That was
00:08:18.250 --> 00:08:20.610
one part of it right so clearly his parents were
00:08:20.610 --> 00:08:23.410
unhappy his mom specifically was unhappy She's
00:08:23.410 --> 00:08:27.029
the only one that's quoted and then I said you
00:08:27.029 --> 00:08:30.670
know It's obvious that Jesus knew who he was
00:08:30.670 --> 00:08:32.710
at this point because he said didn't you know
00:08:32.710 --> 00:08:35.210
I would be in my father's house so Clearly at
00:08:35.210 --> 00:08:42.509
12, Jesus knows who he is. And then I compared
00:08:42.509 --> 00:08:44.570
that to them. I was like, look, don't you ever
00:08:44.570 --> 00:08:46.370
feel like maybe you're underestimated because
00:08:46.370 --> 00:08:49.129
you're a kid? Maybe do you ever feel like you
00:08:49.129 --> 00:08:51.049
underestimate yourself because you're like, well,
00:08:51.049 --> 00:08:55.490
I'm just a kid, right? And that's how I contrasted
00:08:55.490 --> 00:09:01.049
those two things for them and talked about how
00:09:01.049 --> 00:09:04.019
the Pharisee or the religious leaders were like
00:09:04.019 --> 00:09:08.240
amazed by him like Who is this kid? How does
00:09:08.240 --> 00:09:11.340
he know so much? Why is he so wise, right? You
00:09:11.340 --> 00:09:13.759
know what I mean? And I was like Hey, man, you
00:09:13.759 --> 00:09:15.879
don't get to you don't get to allow yourself
00:09:15.879 --> 00:09:19.860
to underestimate yourself Because you are still
00:09:19.860 --> 00:09:23.100
made in the image of God at your age now Right.
00:09:23.279 --> 00:09:25.940
He put something in you in you that you have
00:09:25.940 --> 00:09:30.620
access to right now Yeah, if you let him exactly
00:09:31.309 --> 00:09:34.049
So that was what it was good and it felt good.
00:09:34.049 --> 00:09:36.450
That's good. I'll be honest. It felt good It
00:09:36.450 --> 00:09:37.789
made me feel good because you know, of course,
00:09:37.830 --> 00:09:39.750
you know me we talked about this last week about
00:09:39.750 --> 00:09:42.269
me leaving the altar and writing over people
00:09:42.269 --> 00:09:44.690
I prayed over Otis and stuff like that. And then
00:09:44.690 --> 00:09:46.509
of course I prayed over my brother and my sister
00:09:46.509 --> 00:09:50.870
-in -law and People were sat next to us which
00:09:50.870 --> 00:09:53.549
a lady and her three kids sat next to Kevin in
00:09:53.549 --> 00:09:56.190
them And they saw me pray over Otis which sat
00:09:56.190 --> 00:09:58.490
in front of us and that prayed over my brother
00:09:58.490 --> 00:10:02.539
We sat next to them And which course I was on
00:10:02.539 --> 00:10:04.200
the end, you know, and she's like, I saw you
00:10:04.200 --> 00:10:09.100
playing over everybody knows No me I leave I
00:10:09.100 --> 00:10:10.820
leave the altar and she's like what he wants
00:10:10.820 --> 00:10:13.980
to be baptized You know what? She's been teaching
00:10:13.980 --> 00:10:16.179
this kid I said you're doing what you're supposed
00:10:16.179 --> 00:10:17.500
to be doing as a parent goes well I don't know
00:10:17.500 --> 00:10:19.720
if I'm teaching the right way what she said to
00:10:19.720 --> 00:10:20.980
him. I said you're doing what you're supposed
00:10:20.980 --> 00:10:23.620
to be done. He already knows What he wants to
00:10:23.620 --> 00:10:25.570
be he wants to be baptized This kid wants to
00:10:25.570 --> 00:10:27.889
be about us. I said, listen, I was going to say,
00:10:27.909 --> 00:10:30.570
of course you always second guess yourself, right?
00:10:30.570 --> 00:10:33.509
So you brought them to me, which thank you for
00:10:33.509 --> 00:10:38.730
even thinking about doing that. But now I look
00:10:38.730 --> 00:10:40.889
back at what I told him, what I said to him and
00:10:40.889 --> 00:10:42.350
I'm like, man, did I say the right thing? Did
00:10:42.350 --> 00:10:44.649
I do the right thing? I actually feel like I
00:10:44.649 --> 00:10:46.649
missed an opportunity though, because I did.
00:10:46.690 --> 00:10:49.330
He wanted to know what do I do? And I didn't
00:10:49.330 --> 00:10:51.269
give him an answer, really. I was like, well,
00:10:51.450 --> 00:10:53.509
I just kind of gave him some direction, but I
00:10:53.509 --> 00:10:55.889
didn't give him an answer. First of all, I didn't
00:10:55.889 --> 00:10:58.950
ask the right question. I didn't ask him, have
00:10:58.950 --> 00:11:01.009
you given your life to Christ? Like, have you
00:11:01.009 --> 00:11:03.870
made that decision that you want Christ to be
00:11:03.870 --> 00:11:05.330
the Lord of your life? I didn't ask him that
00:11:05.330 --> 00:11:07.029
question. He did say that, because I asked him,
00:11:07.110 --> 00:11:09.730
I said, do you know what this means? He goes,
00:11:09.889 --> 00:11:12.480
yes. I said, what does it mean to you? I'm giving
00:11:12.480 --> 00:11:14.639
my crisis that you know, you're making yourself
00:11:14.639 --> 00:11:17.139
new he goes. Yes I said, you know, you're leaving
00:11:17.139 --> 00:11:20.360
that old self behind right and you're making
00:11:20.360 --> 00:11:23.740
yourself musical kid So I want to see him again.
00:11:23.740 --> 00:11:25.940
I don't coming next Sunday and I said hey come
00:11:25.940 --> 00:11:29.139
find me I'm over I said me and my husband we're
00:11:29.139 --> 00:11:32.330
kind the new new booth he's in kids I said you'll
00:11:32.330 --> 00:11:34.769
see us again I said if you have any more questions
00:11:34.769 --> 00:11:38.129
you your dad your parents dude pray about it
00:11:38.129 --> 00:11:40.210
read about it you know here you are you are no
00:11:40.210 --> 00:11:43.029
you know this step is your next step right you
00:11:43.029 --> 00:11:46.110
know this is making new and you're you're you're
00:11:46.110 --> 00:11:49.169
stepping out of your old life and into a new
00:11:49.169 --> 00:11:51.750
life and he goes yes and I did pray with him
00:11:51.750 --> 00:11:53.809
there at the altar yeah I should have prayed
00:11:53.809 --> 00:11:56.629
with him too honestly what I should have done
00:11:56.629 --> 00:11:59.919
was separate him from the herd Yeah, right y
00:11:59.919 --> 00:12:02.200
'all were all huddled over and I should have
00:12:02.200 --> 00:12:03.659
said hey Why don't you come over here and let
00:12:03.659 --> 00:12:06.259
me talk to you for a second? Yeah without y 'all.
00:12:06.500 --> 00:12:09.919
Yeah without mom He was like, okay now I'm on
00:12:09.919 --> 00:12:12.679
the spot. Yeah, that's what I should have but
00:12:12.679 --> 00:12:15.039
see in the moment I wasn't thinking I was just
00:12:15.039 --> 00:12:17.059
like trying to react and react in the right way
00:12:17.059 --> 00:12:19.240
and I don't think I did anything wrong Well,
00:12:19.240 --> 00:12:22.480
we gave him a Bible and you told me to read Matthew
00:12:22.480 --> 00:12:24.779
Mark Luke John I told him to start with Jesus
00:12:24.779 --> 00:12:28.169
start with Jesus go there Start there. It'll
00:12:28.169 --> 00:12:30.070
help you. Do you have a Bible? Yeah, he has a
00:12:30.070 --> 00:12:31.990
kids bubble dude. He could answer himself You
00:12:31.990 --> 00:12:34.049
know do this Bible was it that's a hard thing
00:12:34.049 --> 00:12:36.929
for parents, right? This is a kids Bible, but
00:12:36.929 --> 00:12:39.370
it's a little bit more of a more of a journey.
00:12:39.409 --> 00:12:41.889
You can still go scripture for scripture. You
00:12:41.889 --> 00:12:47.169
can still go 32 I would rather read a kids Bible
00:12:47.169 --> 00:12:50.289
because for sure it's more Cut and dry, right?
00:12:50.289 --> 00:12:52.889
It's real narrow and it shows you the point.
00:12:53.049 --> 00:12:57.720
You don't see the end day and I mean, that's
00:12:57.720 --> 00:12:59.860
that's for the King James version. I can't read
00:12:59.860 --> 00:13:03.820
the King. I can now. I will say this for me,
00:13:04.080 --> 00:13:09.720
like having read the NLT version and like read
00:13:09.720 --> 00:13:11.899
it so many times. I haven't read the whole thing,
00:13:11.899 --> 00:13:14.200
but maybe twice, maybe twice. I read the whole
00:13:14.200 --> 00:13:17.139
thing, but I've read several books many times.
00:13:17.139 --> 00:13:21.230
Yeah. And I can now. going back, I can read the
00:13:21.230 --> 00:13:23.669
KJV, the King James Version, and it makes better
00:13:23.669 --> 00:13:29.950
sense to me today. But a young mind now cannot
00:13:29.950 --> 00:13:34.009
comprehend that. It's too much. And even an adult
00:13:34.009 --> 00:13:38.629
mind who hasn't been in it, look, it's not. It's
00:13:38.629 --> 00:13:41.470
not it's not gonna happen man. It's hard to comprehend
00:13:41.470 --> 00:13:43.769
It's hard to understand you can go even further
00:13:43.769 --> 00:13:46.070
back my dad has a couple of the older versions
00:13:46.070 --> 00:13:49.309
like the geneva bible and the the um, not he
00:13:49.309 --> 00:13:52.470
doesn't have the ethiopian but The puritan bible
00:13:52.470 --> 00:13:55.809
that's supposedly what was brought over On the
00:13:55.809 --> 00:13:57.809
nina the pinta and the santa maria to the united
00:13:57.809 --> 00:14:03.019
or to the americas or whatever It's so freaking
00:14:03.019 --> 00:14:06.399
hard to understand like we don't talk like that
00:14:06.399 --> 00:14:10.899
We went to a thrift store one time and it was
00:14:10.899 --> 00:14:12.820
a bunch of whole bunch of these books over here
00:14:12.820 --> 00:14:14.600
And it was like you picked up this one book and
00:14:14.600 --> 00:14:19.960
it was like picked up It wasn't it was a dictionary
00:14:19.960 --> 00:14:24.240
of Was it was it are you talking about the that
00:14:24.240 --> 00:14:27.600
Haley's handbook? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
00:14:27.620 --> 00:14:30.500
I thought that was cool. It was free It's free,
00:14:30.639 --> 00:14:33.080
nobody's gonna buy it. I like it, because it's
00:14:33.080 --> 00:14:35.220
a reference. It's basically a reference. It's
00:14:35.220 --> 00:14:39.159
helpful in helping to break down small blocks
00:14:39.159 --> 00:14:42.139
of scripture to give you kind of a base understanding
00:14:42.139 --> 00:14:45.860
of what's going on, right? So I think the thing
00:14:45.860 --> 00:14:47.860
that stands out to me the most is one thing that
00:14:47.860 --> 00:14:51.960
I said to him, which is kind of along the lines
00:14:51.960 --> 00:14:54.360
of what I felt like we were gonna talk about
00:14:54.360 --> 00:14:56.039
today, is I was like, man, you need to surround
00:14:56.039 --> 00:14:59.750
yourself with people. who are going to support
00:14:59.750 --> 00:15:03.190
and teach you. And that you can also support
00:15:03.190 --> 00:15:06.090
and teach. I love that he said my uncle. He did.
00:15:06.210 --> 00:15:08.210
He said I have some great uncles, though. I don't
00:15:08.210 --> 00:15:10.789
know if that meant he has great uncles or great,
00:15:11.090 --> 00:15:13.409
great uncles. That was good, though, that he
00:15:13.409 --> 00:15:15.870
has, you know, as he has some people surround
00:15:15.870 --> 00:15:18.889
him that are going to teach him and I guess they
00:15:18.889 --> 00:15:22.049
are don't didn't live here and they just moved
00:15:22.049 --> 00:15:24.590
here a year. And that was awesome. I love that.
00:15:24.970 --> 00:15:27.149
You know, that was great. I loved, I love to
00:15:27.149 --> 00:15:31.370
see young people, young people, this new generation
00:15:31.370 --> 00:15:35.029
that want to come here. What I like, cause I
00:15:35.029 --> 00:15:37.710
treat all kids the same. Every kid I see is exactly
00:15:37.710 --> 00:15:41.250
the same to me. The ones who connect with me,
00:15:41.450 --> 00:15:43.049
obviously I'll treat them a little bit different
00:15:43.049 --> 00:15:46.070
because they're more comfortable with me. But
00:15:46.070 --> 00:15:47.870
like the dudes that were behind the little kids
00:15:47.870 --> 00:15:49.870
that were with them, they were like just standing
00:15:49.870 --> 00:15:53.559
kind of in the back. Hey, what's up, dude. You
00:15:53.559 --> 00:15:56.000
know, give me a shake my hand or give me a I
00:15:56.000 --> 00:15:57.919
don't make them shake my hands I know it's weird
00:15:57.919 --> 00:16:00.340
nowadays for people to shake hands. So at least
00:16:00.340 --> 00:16:03.480
at least just Tap me up man. You're good. Give
00:16:03.480 --> 00:16:06.000
me a little back Give me a fist bump something,
00:16:06.419 --> 00:16:09.139
you know, but I always make sure I acknowledge
00:16:09.139 --> 00:16:13.539
them as well that I think that's very important
00:16:13.539 --> 00:16:15.919
not just with kids but with people people wanna
00:16:15.919 --> 00:16:18.779
be seen They want to feel like they're known.
00:16:18.779 --> 00:16:20.940
It's like, you know when you go talk to you like,
00:16:20.940 --> 00:16:25.509
you know women talk to men You acknowledge The
00:16:25.509 --> 00:16:27.789
women that are with them. You don't just talk
00:16:27.789 --> 00:16:31.389
just to them in hi. Is this your wife? Hi, I'm
00:16:31.389 --> 00:16:34.809
Terry Nice to meet you. Do that. Don't do not
00:16:34.809 --> 00:16:37.470
disclude anybody that are with them or surround
00:16:37.470 --> 00:16:45.129
them. I would never Okay, let's just say Because
00:16:45.129 --> 00:16:48.049
I work with women that I don't know their husbands,
00:16:48.289 --> 00:16:51.509
right? Right and If I see them in public, I'm
00:16:51.509 --> 00:16:54.639
gonna be like, hey, how are you? But I'm instantly
00:16:54.639 --> 00:16:57.740
gonna be like, hey, I'm John, you know what I
00:16:57.740 --> 00:17:00.179
mean? To the husband, if they're with their significant
00:17:00.179 --> 00:17:03.539
other or whatever. Because that's a matter of
00:17:03.539 --> 00:17:05.380
treating it with respect, you know what I mean?
00:17:06.960 --> 00:17:10.579
This is not some kind of weird thing. I'm not
00:17:10.579 --> 00:17:12.900
trying to do anything. I'm just acknowledging
00:17:12.900 --> 00:17:15.640
your presence because we know who each other
00:17:15.640 --> 00:17:18.680
is and it would be very rude of me to just wander
00:17:18.680 --> 00:17:21.609
on by like. You know what I mean? That's not
00:17:21.609 --> 00:17:23.670
nice. Come on. You're supposed to acknowledge
00:17:23.670 --> 00:17:27.490
each other's presence. And so I feel like feeling
00:17:27.490 --> 00:17:31.069
Seen is important right and I think that's why
00:17:31.069 --> 00:17:34.089
some people really really shy away from bigger
00:17:34.089 --> 00:17:38.710
church communities Right. I know I do Yeah, right,
00:17:38.750 --> 00:17:42.549
but too small is too small Right, right. So it
00:17:42.549 --> 00:17:44.630
I don't know that there's no such thing as too
00:17:44.630 --> 00:17:46.849
small I guess in a grand scheme of things as
00:17:46.849 --> 00:17:48.410
long as somebody's being helped that's good,
00:17:48.470 --> 00:17:51.940
but right And that's foundational, right? You're
00:17:51.940 --> 00:17:54.559
building on something and you're hoping to grow
00:17:54.559 --> 00:17:58.880
it to be bigger. So no disrespect, but I like
00:17:58.880 --> 00:18:01.720
the dynamic our church has. I know their goal
00:18:01.720 --> 00:18:03.819
and their aspirations are to be much bigger,
00:18:03.819 --> 00:18:09.819
and I get that. I understand why. But I today
00:18:09.819 --> 00:18:12.519
can walk up to our pastor and just talk to him,
00:18:12.579 --> 00:18:15.400
and he knows me. He knows who I am. Well, it's
00:18:15.400 --> 00:18:20.799
funny because we had a Sisterhood one time and
00:18:20.799 --> 00:18:22.799
it's funny because some people came from another
00:18:22.799 --> 00:18:25.819
church not gonna make comment on churches But
00:18:25.819 --> 00:18:27.920
some people came from another church to our church
00:18:27.920 --> 00:18:31.059
and they're like, oh Your pastor actually comes
00:18:31.059 --> 00:18:34.259
off and talks to y 'all and says hi. How are
00:18:34.259 --> 00:18:36.960
y 'all and she interacts with y 'all she was
00:18:36.960 --> 00:18:39.980
Ours does not do that or doesn't ours doesn't
00:18:39.980 --> 00:18:43.559
come off and says how y 'all or doesn't greet
00:18:43.559 --> 00:18:45.880
us. Does it nothing? Yeah, you know and which
00:18:45.880 --> 00:18:50.059
is nice because Pastor Payne does try to do that
00:18:50.059 --> 00:18:52.720
to a lot. She tries to greet and hi. How are
00:18:52.720 --> 00:18:55.519
you? She's really good about that. I love that
00:18:55.519 --> 00:18:58.359
She's really just very friendly to everybody,
00:18:58.380 --> 00:19:01.740
you know, cuz one time It's funny. She came to
00:19:01.740 --> 00:19:04.180
me. She was hey, do you know so and so I'm like,
00:19:04.440 --> 00:19:07.200
oh, I'm not very good with names She said well,
00:19:07.220 --> 00:19:10.019
they said that you invited them So they invited
00:19:10.019 --> 00:19:12.400
this and they said, you know you and I was like
00:19:12.400 --> 00:19:18.230
show me she's like Which was so funny, which
00:19:18.230 --> 00:19:21.410
was her cousin. Oh, well, which was one of her
00:19:21.410 --> 00:19:25.089
cousins, which was payment and Lori's cousin
00:19:25.089 --> 00:19:30.029
that we invited that went to their gym. Oh, wow.
00:19:30.230 --> 00:19:32.410
You know, and I was like, oh, yeah, we invited
00:19:32.410 --> 00:19:34.250
them, you know, because it was Laura's friend.
00:19:34.329 --> 00:19:37.210
OK. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So they went to their gym
00:19:37.210 --> 00:19:38.750
and came to our church and she was and that's
00:19:38.750 --> 00:19:41.529
her cousin. Yeah. She was reading those your
00:19:41.529 --> 00:19:43.589
church. And now they go to our church. So it
00:19:43.589 --> 00:19:46.900
was funny, you know. Small world, you know, the
00:19:46.900 --> 00:19:49.859
world is so small. It's crazy. I said yes, and
00:19:49.859 --> 00:19:52.900
it's funny cuz Pam was like yes She works here.
00:19:52.900 --> 00:19:54.920
She's staff and I said we're not staff for family
00:19:54.920 --> 00:19:58.700
and Pam goes Touche you're right Terry. We're
00:19:58.700 --> 00:20:02.279
family Absolutely. She says this is our y 'all
00:20:02.279 --> 00:20:04.180
y 'all and I was like you're right. This is y
00:20:04.180 --> 00:20:06.539
'all It's like the opening scripture right the
00:20:06.539 --> 00:20:08.559
Ecclesiastes scripture. It's great for weddings
00:20:08.559 --> 00:20:10.960
people use it mostly for weddings, but it's if
00:20:10.960 --> 00:20:14.400
you really Just take away the pressure of that
00:20:14.400 --> 00:20:17.759
kind of a relationship and think about just relationships,
00:20:17.779 --> 00:20:24.119
right? Look We cannot look we just come off of
00:20:24.119 --> 00:20:26.880
an episode where we spent talking about it turns
00:20:26.880 --> 00:20:30.099
out fighting is a full -time job And we're talking
00:20:30.099 --> 00:20:33.700
about the spiritual fight the fight the fight
00:20:33.700 --> 00:20:37.420
and look not just that fight Sometimes going
00:20:37.420 --> 00:20:39.700
to work every day is a fight. It's a struggle
00:20:41.250 --> 00:20:43.430
every different avenue in your life that's good
00:20:43.430 --> 00:20:46.430
for you sometimes gets to be a struggle. Going
00:20:46.430 --> 00:20:50.069
to the gym every morning is a struggle. It's
00:20:50.069 --> 00:20:52.650
a fight. And there are so many times when it's
00:20:52.650 --> 00:20:55.230
like, I would just rather not. I would rather
00:20:55.230 --> 00:21:00.710
not too. But the outcome is so much better if
00:21:00.710 --> 00:21:04.529
I do. It is so much better. So the way that that
00:21:04.529 --> 00:21:07.029
scripture lines out, it's like, look, one person
00:21:07.029 --> 00:21:10.170
on their own, they're going to have a hard time.
00:21:10.839 --> 00:21:14.539
At least two back to back can fight off a coming
00:21:14.539 --> 00:21:19.579
attack, a coming wave. But three is better. And
00:21:19.579 --> 00:21:22.000
then you expand on that. Four is even better
00:21:22.000 --> 00:21:23.440
than that. Five is even better than that. Six
00:21:23.440 --> 00:21:25.440
is even better than that. Your strength gets
00:21:25.440 --> 00:21:30.619
bigger and better as you go. I don't think, based
00:21:30.619 --> 00:21:34.019
on what I understand, that we are meant to just
00:21:34.019 --> 00:21:36.180
fight this alone. And this is where the whole
00:21:36.180 --> 00:21:40.619
church thing is important. This is why God had
00:21:40.589 --> 00:21:43.170
Change of heart for me or helped me have a change
00:21:43.170 --> 00:21:46.109
of heart. You helped God deliver a message to
00:21:46.109 --> 00:21:52.529
me to change my heart You can't do you can I
00:21:52.529 --> 00:21:54.950
Mean look God's gonna let you do whatever right
00:21:54.950 --> 00:21:58.569
right you can do it alone you can It's cuz you
00:21:58.569 --> 00:22:02.029
won't win. Did you do your mind being your mind
00:22:02.029 --> 00:22:05.970
by yourself? Being alone is never good for you.
00:22:05.970 --> 00:22:09.259
You're going to have to have Someone to be able
00:22:09.259 --> 00:22:12.819
to pull you out of that and be able to help you
00:22:12.819 --> 00:22:17.079
out of that loneliness and that darkness and
00:22:17.079 --> 00:22:18.839
You're gonna have to have someone pull you out.
00:22:18.839 --> 00:22:21.180
You can't do by yourself You're gonna have to
00:22:21.180 --> 00:22:24.220
help someone help you this world. It's gonna
00:22:24.220 --> 00:22:27.579
have to be two hands This world will truly grind
00:22:27.579 --> 00:22:33.559
you into dust. Absolutely I'm 46 years old Yes
00:22:33.559 --> 00:22:43.039
46 Yes, 2026 46 I'm 46 years old. I spent the
00:22:43.039 --> 00:22:52.140
first 40 35 of it 38 of it 30 somewhere in there
00:22:52.140 --> 00:22:55.859
doing it by myself thinking I can do it by myself
00:22:55.859 --> 00:23:00.420
and begrudgingly I Started attending church and
00:23:00.420 --> 00:23:03.839
my mind has been changed, right? It's only over
00:23:03.839 --> 00:23:08.839
the last Five ish six ish years that I've truly
00:23:08.839 --> 00:23:11.359
started to understand the power of community,
00:23:11.359 --> 00:23:17.359
right? Right. It's it's the reason Look, if you
00:23:17.359 --> 00:23:19.440
want to look at my history if you want to know
00:23:19.440 --> 00:23:21.880
me personally and understand my history You'll
00:23:21.880 --> 00:23:24.819
understand why I'm very standoffish with relationships
00:23:24.819 --> 00:23:29.380
friendships and and things like that like You
00:23:29.380 --> 00:23:34.240
understand you will understand why I am so finicky
00:23:34.460 --> 00:23:41.059
about forging relationships. However, over the
00:23:41.059 --> 00:23:44.859
last six years, five or six years, I have been
00:23:44.859 --> 00:23:50.220
more willing to step out and be involved in relationships
00:23:50.220 --> 00:23:54.059
and create and forge relationships. That's how
00:23:54.059 --> 00:23:59.220
this podcast even started truly growing my relationship
00:23:59.220 --> 00:24:01.819
with Brittany and Eric, growing my relationship
00:24:01.819 --> 00:24:07.450
with Jason and Kevin. And you know what I'm saying?
00:24:07.589 --> 00:24:11.269
Like that's how this even exists, is because
00:24:11.269 --> 00:24:14.549
God has given me a change of heart through going
00:24:14.549 --> 00:24:17.809
to and committing to a church. And you want to
00:24:17.809 --> 00:24:20.049
know the best thing about our church? I mean,
00:24:20.089 --> 00:24:23.589
it's not an advertisement for that. They're not
00:24:23.589 --> 00:24:26.789
listening either, but it's not an advertisement
00:24:26.789 --> 00:24:31.049
for our church. But I just love how real they
00:24:31.049 --> 00:24:35.779
are. They're just people. They speak to me from
00:24:35.779 --> 00:24:39.180
the pulpit Like we're just having a conversation.
00:24:39.319 --> 00:24:42.619
Yeah You know what I'm saying and they say real
00:24:42.619 --> 00:24:46.500
shit to me. I Like I love my church. I just I
00:24:46.500 --> 00:24:51.740
love Christians messages Sunday was I Loved it
00:24:51.740 --> 00:24:55.539
and it's in here's a message was great keeping
00:24:55.539 --> 00:25:02.039
receipts quit keeping receipts So good unless
00:25:02.039 --> 00:25:04.900
we're talking about taxes Was funny don't keep
00:25:04.900 --> 00:25:06.539
your receipt it was funny because some of the
00:25:06.539 --> 00:25:11.359
stuff he commented I was just like and It was
00:25:11.359 --> 00:25:15.680
like being rooted Being rude where you are. Just
00:25:15.680 --> 00:25:20.079
keep being rooted in just you know Grabbing on
00:25:20.079 --> 00:25:22.539
the stuff you needed to that reminds me because
00:25:22.539 --> 00:25:25.329
people like to bounce around in churches They're
00:25:25.329 --> 00:25:27.109
like, ah, I don't like this about that church.
00:25:27.369 --> 00:25:29.509
You're never going to be satisfied. Just so you
00:25:29.509 --> 00:25:32.309
know, you're never going to be fully satisfied
00:25:32.309 --> 00:25:35.430
with the church itself. Ever. Ever. You know
00:25:35.430 --> 00:25:39.549
why? People are involved. Yes. Yes. And it was
00:25:39.549 --> 00:25:42.450
funny because he talked about faith. Walking,
00:25:43.349 --> 00:25:47.210
walking with you in like your next step in those
00:25:47.210 --> 00:25:50.329
steps. And then you're going to have to do your
00:25:50.329 --> 00:25:54.240
faith with The steps you're gonna have to go
00:25:54.240 --> 00:25:58.400
through the storms Your faith has to be bigger
00:25:58.400 --> 00:26:06.579
even through the storm look Your boat don't get
00:26:06.579 --> 00:26:08.759
bigger without being built exactly right you
00:26:08.759 --> 00:26:13.420
got to add to it and you got to be We've talked
00:26:13.420 --> 00:26:15.099
about this before Jason and I have talked about
00:26:15.099 --> 00:26:17.460
forging relationships and like what happens in
00:26:17.460 --> 00:26:20.880
a forge it's heat and beat Life and character
00:26:20.880 --> 00:26:24.920
are the same thing It's a you have to go through
00:26:24.920 --> 00:26:28.339
the heat and the pressure. Yeah to grow into
00:26:28.339 --> 00:26:30.700
something different You know what I'm saying?
00:26:30.960 --> 00:26:35.240
You don't change by having no challenge, right?
00:26:35.460 --> 00:26:38.180
Yeah It's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen.
00:26:38.599 --> 00:26:41.519
You won't change because you haven't been challenged
00:26:41.519 --> 00:26:44.880
Yeah, you have to go through the storms. You
00:26:44.880 --> 00:26:47.119
have to go through the challenging things in
00:26:47.119 --> 00:26:51.859
life It's what makes you better. James says it,
00:26:52.240 --> 00:26:55.440
Roman says it. Like, hey, we can rejoice too
00:26:55.440 --> 00:26:57.480
when we run into problems and trials because
00:26:57.480 --> 00:26:59.720
they help us develop endurance. They help us
00:26:59.720 --> 00:27:03.059
grow. They help us get better. And we're reminded
00:27:03.059 --> 00:27:06.720
that our hope is not in us. It's in him. Thank
00:27:06.720 --> 00:27:09.960
God. The challenge is the challenge, but it doesn't
00:27:09.960 --> 00:27:13.039
mean anything in the grand scheme. The challenge
00:27:13.039 --> 00:27:15.720
makes us better so we can help others come to
00:27:15.720 --> 00:27:19.220
him. Because he is all that matters. Absolutely.
00:27:19.940 --> 00:27:22.200
Right? That's the whole point of everything that
00:27:22.200 --> 00:27:26.480
we're trying to do, right? And so, yeah, my definition
00:27:26.480 --> 00:27:29.019
has changed. My approach to things has changed.
00:27:29.059 --> 00:27:33.519
I'm still finicky. I'm still slow, slow, slow.
00:27:33.819 --> 00:27:35.759
I'm like the Grinch in that way. Too much, too
00:27:35.759 --> 00:27:37.359
fast. Too much, too fast. Too much, too fast.
00:27:38.299 --> 00:27:43.180
He's like, oh my, I love ya. He's all licking
00:27:43.180 --> 00:27:46.480
his face. Get off of me. Too much too fast. Too
00:27:46.480 --> 00:27:49.359
much too fast. One step at a time. One step at
00:27:49.359 --> 00:27:52.099
a time. That's how I feel sometimes. It's like,
00:27:52.200 --> 00:27:53.700
okay, you're pushing me too far. That's enough.
00:27:55.460 --> 00:27:58.299
And it's okay to set boundaries, right? I want
00:27:58.299 --> 00:28:00.900
to make sure it's safe for people to set boundaries
00:28:00.900 --> 00:28:02.480
because you should. You should be able to say,
00:28:02.579 --> 00:28:05.299
okay, I'm not okay with that. Maybe I will be
00:28:05.299 --> 00:28:09.000
eventually, but I'm not today. So don't push
00:28:09.000 --> 00:28:13.000
on that guardrail. You know what I mean? Just
00:28:13.000 --> 00:28:17.059
leave me alone in that respect. And you know
00:28:17.059 --> 00:28:19.759
me well enough like you didn't I give you tons
00:28:19.759 --> 00:28:23.400
of credit for me being In church and being involved
00:28:23.400 --> 00:28:26.099
because of you allowing me to have the space
00:28:26.099 --> 00:28:31.779
right? I really do because It's probably one
00:28:31.779 --> 00:28:33.500
of the best ways you ever communicated with me
00:28:33.500 --> 00:28:36.380
is like hey this is I need this I want this I'm
00:28:36.380 --> 00:28:38.940
gonna do I need the fellowship I need the fellowship
00:28:38.940 --> 00:28:42.839
right right and and that was What I'm gonna say
00:28:42.839 --> 00:28:48.119
no I don't allow that. I can't call myself a
00:28:48.119 --> 00:28:50.440
cross follower and say that. I'm out. But you
00:28:50.440 --> 00:28:52.220
know what I'm saying. I can't do that, right?
00:28:52.880 --> 00:28:58.240
So in the big picture, you know me. If you push
00:28:58.240 --> 00:29:01.259
me, I will do exactly the opposite of what you
00:29:01.259 --> 00:29:06.160
want. You want me to go to church, leave me alone.
00:29:06.900 --> 00:29:10.859
I never pushed you. You never once did. Did not.
00:29:11.839 --> 00:29:16.430
You never even asked. Nope. Casey asked you hey,
00:29:16.630 --> 00:29:19.029
we're doing baby dedication. Yeah, I would like
00:29:19.029 --> 00:29:24.109
for you to go and I said And he you went hmm
00:29:24.109 --> 00:29:27.349
Yeah, and it took that was the first time I went
00:29:27.349 --> 00:29:31.269
and it took a couple more weeks Before I finally
00:29:31.269 --> 00:29:35.529
took the step We said all that to kind of preface
00:29:35.529 --> 00:29:40.029
not preface but to to talk about you know again,
00:29:40.089 --> 00:29:42.529
we've been talking about fighting the good fight,
00:29:42.769 --> 00:29:45.450
right and how that fight really is a full -time
00:29:45.450 --> 00:29:48.309
gig. It's not something that you don't get to
00:29:48.309 --> 00:29:52.869
shy away from it because you're tired. But sometimes
00:29:52.869 --> 00:29:58.009
we get weary, we get worn. And I found out, not
00:29:58.009 --> 00:30:00.890
I didn't find out, but I haven't, I related this
00:30:00.890 --> 00:30:05.410
to a story that I had heard before, but I didn't
00:30:05.410 --> 00:30:09.480
see it in the way that I see it now. in in exodus
00:30:09.480 --> 00:30:12.420
with moses right and you know it's funny because
00:30:12.420 --> 00:30:14.140
i've never heard of this story you've never heard
00:30:14.140 --> 00:30:16.740
this story really i haven't yeah i've never heard
00:30:16.740 --> 00:30:18.740
this story when you said i was like i'm gonna
00:30:18.740 --> 00:30:23.480
have to like really so i feel like i would say
00:30:23.480 --> 00:30:26.700
that i have not read the book of exodus in a
00:30:26.700 --> 00:30:30.299
very long time i should probably go back and
00:30:30.299 --> 00:30:34.500
read the entire book uh but i remembered this
00:30:34.500 --> 00:30:39.839
specific story i remembered it I don't know why
00:30:39.839 --> 00:30:46.680
I remembered it, but, so, when we get in this
00:30:46.680 --> 00:30:50.539
battle, we've said, you can't do this by yourself.
00:30:51.619 --> 00:30:55.079
You need to, at least. Three's better, four's
00:30:55.079 --> 00:30:56.920
better, five's better than that, six's better
00:30:56.920 --> 00:30:58.680
than that, seven's better than that. And look,
00:30:58.680 --> 00:31:02.940
God being at the center of everything. But in
00:31:02.940 --> 00:31:05.819
Exodus chapter 17, i don't remember the entire
00:31:05.819 --> 00:31:08.339
context of what's happening i know that the the
00:31:08.339 --> 00:31:11.400
israel so one thing i know for a fact about moses
00:31:11.400 --> 00:31:15.119
is he did not reach the promised land okay whenever
00:31:15.119 --> 00:31:18.599
they left egypt and they crossed the red sea
00:31:18.599 --> 00:31:22.059
right when they crossed the red sea they were
00:31:22.059 --> 00:31:25.359
on their way to what is the promised land yeah
00:31:25.359 --> 00:31:29.799
but they through bitterness and all that kind
00:31:29.799 --> 00:31:33.519
of stuff they And pissing off God they wandered
00:31:33.519 --> 00:31:37.200
around in the wilderness for 40 years Yeah, and
00:31:37.200 --> 00:31:40.660
Moses never actually entered into the promised
00:31:40.660 --> 00:31:42.960
land But he was with them for a very long time
00:31:42.960 --> 00:31:44.839
and they battled and they fought and they kept
00:31:44.839 --> 00:31:46.319
expanding and trying to figure out how to get
00:31:46.319 --> 00:31:52.680
to the promised land and at one point The Israel
00:31:52.680 --> 00:31:55.579
Israelite people come into contact with a fight
00:31:55.579 --> 00:31:59.680
the Amalekites I Don't even know who that would
00:31:59.680 --> 00:32:05.279
be And so Moses had compatriots, he had Aaron
00:32:05.279 --> 00:32:08.259
was kind of like his right hand, and there was
00:32:08.259 --> 00:32:10.799
another person, there was a female that was actually,
00:32:11.039 --> 00:32:13.660
I don't remember her name, I always forget her
00:32:13.660 --> 00:32:16.920
name, shame on me. Shame on you. I know, dude.
00:32:16.960 --> 00:32:19.759
Woman. I'm just kidding. Shout out to the women
00:32:19.759 --> 00:32:22.700
in the world, they are far more intelligent than
00:32:22.700 --> 00:32:26.339
men and far more emotionally intelligent than
00:32:26.339 --> 00:32:31.279
men. So anyway though, the thing is is what I
00:32:31.279 --> 00:32:35.000
noticed is it's kind of a three pronged kind
00:32:35.000 --> 00:32:39.480
of situation. Number one, Moses or the Israelite
00:32:39.480 --> 00:32:41.519
people come into contact with this battle that
00:32:41.519 --> 00:32:45.259
they have to face and they proceed, right? They
00:32:45.259 --> 00:32:50.000
proceed to this battle and I don't know the circumstances
00:32:50.000 --> 00:32:53.380
behind it. We would have to go and reread that,
00:32:53.680 --> 00:32:58.430
the circumstances behind why Moses is lifting
00:32:58.430 --> 00:33:01.170
the staff. I don't know that part of it, right?
00:33:02.029 --> 00:33:05.890
But anyway, the whole point is, let me just read
00:33:05.890 --> 00:33:08.009
the part of it, right? Get to the point. Yeah,
00:33:08.009 --> 00:33:09.910
sorry, sorry. I'm rambling. I'm rambling. Come
00:33:09.910 --> 00:33:14.410
on. Like you would say, get to the point. Wow.
00:33:16.130 --> 00:33:22.730
Okay. As long as Mel... That's Moses. Not Mel.
00:33:23.009 --> 00:33:30.210
That would be Moses. Take two. As long as Moses
00:33:30.210 --> 00:33:33.450
held up his hands, the Israelites were winning.
00:33:33.950 --> 00:33:36.750
But whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites
00:33:36.750 --> 00:33:40.130
were winning. When Moses' hands grew tired, they
00:33:40.130 --> 00:33:42.450
took a stone and put it under him and sat on
00:33:42.450 --> 00:33:46.930
it. He sat on it. Aaron and her, H -U -R, held
00:33:46.930 --> 00:33:50.769
his hands up, one on one side, one on the other,
00:33:50.950 --> 00:33:53.789
so that his hands remained steady until sunset.
00:33:54.079 --> 00:33:57.079
So Joshua, who was leading the battle, overcame
00:33:57.079 --> 00:34:00.259
the Amalekite army with the sword. So what I
00:34:00.259 --> 00:34:03.779
hear is that, okay, as long as Moses can keep
00:34:03.779 --> 00:34:08.500
his hands up, this just now occurred to me. What
00:34:08.500 --> 00:34:12.099
do we ask for in praise? Our hands up. Right?
00:34:12.880 --> 00:34:15.800
That's funny, yes. It just now occurred to me,
00:34:15.800 --> 00:34:19.059
just now, as I'm thinking about it. It's like...
00:34:18.590 --> 00:34:22.050
As Moses hands are up he has a staff to one staff
00:34:22.050 --> 00:34:24.849
is always in one hand The other hand is up and
00:34:24.849 --> 00:34:27.849
as long as his hands are up. The advantage is
00:34:27.849 --> 00:34:32.170
the Israelite army Right there winning as long
00:34:32.170 --> 00:34:35.170
as his hands are up But let me tell you something
00:34:35.170 --> 00:34:38.750
just keep your hands here. That's hard for a
00:34:38.750 --> 00:34:41.150
couple of minutes. That's I promise you your
00:34:41.150 --> 00:34:44.070
hands will start drifting. Mm -hmm down Right
00:34:44.070 --> 00:34:47.920
and it says as his hands drifted the Amalekite
00:34:47.920 --> 00:34:52.059
army would start to win, right? So it's like,
00:34:52.239 --> 00:34:56.599
okay, I can't keep my hands up, guys. And then
00:34:56.599 --> 00:35:01.639
here comes Erin and her, H -U -R -her, a person,
00:35:01.820 --> 00:35:06.559
another person, who's like, okay, sit down, and
00:35:06.559 --> 00:35:09.980
we're gonna hold your hands up for you, right?
00:35:13.380 --> 00:35:17.960
The community has had to be there, or else they
00:35:17.960 --> 00:35:22.300
would lose. Because Moses was never going to
00:35:22.300 --> 00:35:25.179
be strong enough to hold his hands up the entire
00:35:25.179 --> 00:35:28.340
length of the battle. It's funny because we were
00:35:28.340 --> 00:35:30.219
we've been talking about this with you. I've
00:35:30.219 --> 00:35:32.719
been talking to you about this about having those
00:35:32.719 --> 00:35:34.659
kind of friends and having those true friends
00:35:34.659 --> 00:35:37.500
to you know, the battle that you're going through
00:35:37.500 --> 00:35:39.940
and you know, for us to be there for you. I know
00:35:39.940 --> 00:35:44.829
I'm not. I know. I'm your greatest friend. And
00:35:44.829 --> 00:35:47.170
I know that but you know 100 % um, you know i'm
00:35:47.170 --> 00:35:49.090
your wife too, but you can have to have a best
00:35:49.090 --> 00:35:52.269
friend and your wife and I don't know a better
00:35:52.269 --> 00:35:54.449
place to have a best friend than your wife i'm
00:35:54.449 --> 00:35:57.010
sorry, but like I said having those friends and
00:35:57.010 --> 00:35:59.650
your good your greatest friends and your best
00:35:59.650 --> 00:36:02.429
friends and But you have to have those people,
00:36:02.429 --> 00:36:04.570
you know, sometimes best friends are not always
00:36:04.570 --> 00:36:06.789
going to be your friends like that either but
00:36:06.789 --> 00:36:09.570
okay, so Yeah, and you're kind of talking about
00:36:09.570 --> 00:36:13.530
like true best friends. It's funny. I just wrote
00:36:13.530 --> 00:36:18.349
this on my paper True friends. We have been in
00:36:18.349 --> 00:36:22.070
situations throughout life and had relationships
00:36:22.070 --> 00:36:25.510
Right that didn't make it people that we used
00:36:25.510 --> 00:36:27.789
to call best friends that are no longer even
00:36:27.789 --> 00:36:30.610
acquaintances I have multiple people that I could
00:36:30.610 --> 00:36:35.110
say that about right? So I think the point being
00:36:35.110 --> 00:36:39.550
you have to have the true Friends, right the
00:36:39.550 --> 00:36:41.309
people who have been in your corner and will
00:36:41.309 --> 00:36:44.550
be in your corner right wrong and different Not
00:36:44.550 --> 00:36:46.409
that they're gonna support your bad decisions.
00:36:48.030 --> 00:36:50.710
They'll support you in the moment. But when that
00:36:50.710 --> 00:36:52.269
moment's over, they're gonna be like, hey, bro,
00:36:52.590 --> 00:36:55.210
listen here. Don't you ever put me in a situation
00:36:55.210 --> 00:36:57.110
like that ever again. It's so funny. Maybe my
00:36:57.110 --> 00:36:59.710
mom, we're talking about this today. She made
00:36:59.710 --> 00:37:01.449
me laugh. She's like, you were talking about
00:37:01.449 --> 00:37:03.750
business, being in people's business. She was
00:37:03.750 --> 00:37:06.130
like, am I in your business? I said, mom. Only
00:37:06.130 --> 00:37:09.309
always. Yes. you are I said but you know what
00:37:09.309 --> 00:37:12.090
you mean well you you're my mom and you mean
00:37:12.090 --> 00:37:15.829
well on things I said you I said but you know
00:37:15.829 --> 00:37:18.389
what I know that you mean well and you're trying
00:37:18.389 --> 00:37:23.309
to just be my mom I know I'm old but I love you
00:37:23.309 --> 00:37:25.690
and I know she is just trying to be there and
00:37:25.690 --> 00:37:28.230
it's funny because my siblings I said that's
00:37:28.230 --> 00:37:30.250
your best friend got a best friend you know what
00:37:30.250 --> 00:37:34.230
I will take it sure I will take it if you're
00:37:34.230 --> 00:37:38.789
gonna hand it to me I will take it So another
00:37:38.789 --> 00:37:41.269
thing first that occurred to me is like hey worship
00:37:41.269 --> 00:37:43.730
is sacrifice absolutely, right? It's physically
00:37:43.730 --> 00:37:46.190
sacrificing. It's emotionally sacrificing. It's
00:37:46.190 --> 00:37:49.530
spiritually second part is you have to have those
00:37:49.530 --> 00:37:52.570
people to support you absolutely support is the
00:37:52.570 --> 00:37:54.590
other thing that doesn't really kind of come
00:37:54.590 --> 00:37:57.610
out in this is like There's there's people that
00:37:57.610 --> 00:37:59.489
are on the battlefield and there's your cheerleaders
00:37:59.489 --> 00:38:03.530
on the sidelines Right, that's good. So Joshua
00:38:03.530 --> 00:38:06.559
is out here putting his life on the line. Moses
00:38:06.559 --> 00:38:09.420
is an old, withered man, obviously not gonna
00:38:09.420 --> 00:38:12.460
be putting his life on the line, but he's over
00:38:12.460 --> 00:38:15.380
here cheerleading, baby. You got this, Joshua!
00:38:16.059 --> 00:38:19.719
God, you got him, God. You got him, God. You
00:38:19.719 --> 00:38:22.880
got him, God. You know what I'm saying? It's
00:38:22.880 --> 00:38:25.539
so layered and so many things happening here.
00:38:26.420 --> 00:38:29.900
It's so important and so much more important
00:38:29.900 --> 00:38:33.940
than I ever knew until today. Or until now does
00:38:33.940 --> 00:38:37.800
that make sense? I didn't think Because i'm i'm
00:38:37.800 --> 00:38:41.119
a lone wolf man. I'm a lone dude. I I don't need
00:38:41.119 --> 00:38:45.280
you You do need us. I absolutely do but you know
00:38:45.280 --> 00:38:48.679
what i'm you This is my psyche, right? I'm that
00:38:48.679 --> 00:38:51.440
guy and trust me if you put me in the right position
00:38:51.440 --> 00:38:54.400
right now i'll still go i'll revert back to that
00:38:54.400 --> 00:39:00.400
right i'll still revert back to Don't need you
00:39:00.400 --> 00:39:06.460
You know what I mean? But that hurts It really
00:39:06.460 --> 00:39:11.119
does that really hurts to say and to feel because
00:39:11.119 --> 00:39:15.519
I do need you. Yeah, I need people who support
00:39:15.519 --> 00:39:19.760
me I need people that believe that I'm capable
00:39:19.760 --> 00:39:23.679
of doing This mission that I feel like God has
00:39:23.679 --> 00:39:26.559
called me to do. Yeah, you got this You've been
00:39:26.559 --> 00:39:29.860
working really hard on some stuff that you've
00:39:29.860 --> 00:39:37.130
been just working really hard on chat GPT on
00:39:37.130 --> 00:39:39.710
some stuff and you ain't working really hard
00:39:39.710 --> 00:39:43.750
and you know, just putting your mind to things
00:39:43.750 --> 00:39:47.650
and spending a lot of time and I'm just like,
00:39:47.650 --> 00:39:53.230
you're making me emotionally drained. I'm like,
00:39:54.030 --> 00:39:57.750
chat GPT is a tool, not the answer, but I'm using
00:39:58.079 --> 00:40:01.400
The tools I have to help you Yeah guidelines
00:40:01.400 --> 00:40:03.900
those type things but it's your ideas and that
00:40:03.900 --> 00:40:06.320
you're putting on there And it's just guiding
00:40:06.320 --> 00:40:09.119
you where you want to be guided. That's all it
00:40:09.119 --> 00:40:11.980
is It's not like it's not setting you. It's not
00:40:11.980 --> 00:40:14.940
set in stone is your stuff. You're putting your
00:40:14.940 --> 00:40:17.820
stuff In line where you want to hundred percent.
00:40:18.000 --> 00:40:22.579
So you are doing a great job. I want you to know
00:40:22.579 --> 00:40:26.599
I want you to take the praise for all of this.
00:40:26.619 --> 00:40:29.480
You're doing a very great job. You really are.
00:40:29.739 --> 00:40:34.099
Thank you. Thank you. Welcome. My counselor said
00:40:34.099 --> 00:40:36.420
I should just accept it and move on, and I don't
00:40:36.420 --> 00:40:39.000
know how to do that. You did a good job. So I'm
00:40:39.000 --> 00:40:41.539
trying. I'm trying really hard. But, you know,
00:40:41.539 --> 00:40:44.179
at the end of the day, I think the entire conversation
00:40:44.179 --> 00:40:46.900
really revolves around that idea, like, man,
00:40:47.179 --> 00:40:49.239
you're not meant to do this by yourself. Absolutely
00:40:49.239 --> 00:40:53.199
not. And if you think you can, You can I want
00:40:53.199 --> 00:40:56.000
to see it, but you won't survive it. That's how
00:40:56.000 --> 00:41:02.539
I know it's too much this thing is too Much life
00:41:02.539 --> 00:41:09.159
is too much It's too heavy this world right now
00:41:09.159 --> 00:41:13.039
will beat you up and spit you out It literally
00:41:13.039 --> 00:41:16.199
like you said like I said, it will grind you
00:41:16.199 --> 00:41:20.440
into dust. It will just I mean it's just and
00:41:20.440 --> 00:41:25.260
if you survive I applaud you. I applaud you because
00:41:25.260 --> 00:41:28.300
so okay, so survived it to get to the end of
00:41:28.300 --> 00:41:32.400
it to say what I did it by myself with no one
00:41:32.400 --> 00:41:37.900
around you. Who wants to die alone? I mean, I
00:41:37.900 --> 00:41:43.969
don't. I mean, like, don't remarry. No. Do I
00:41:43.969 --> 00:41:47.389
have friends yes, yes, I I just say it I mean,
00:41:47.570 --> 00:41:52.650
I'm not saying I'm divorcing you That's what
00:41:52.650 --> 00:41:59.269
you want, but I ain't going no hey If I get a
00:41:59.269 --> 00:42:02.929
divorce I'm getting back with my ex Who's my
00:42:02.929 --> 00:42:07.070
ex if we get a divorce? I'm just gonna follow
00:42:07.070 --> 00:42:12.619
my ex wherever she goes I am not I don't know
00:42:12.619 --> 00:42:15.300
and you know what we have made it a point that
00:42:15.300 --> 00:42:17.519
we don't talk like that no we do not because
00:42:17.519 --> 00:42:19.800
we're not speaking that we're not talking that
00:42:19.800 --> 00:42:22.539
we're not because we're not putting that anywhere
00:42:22.539 --> 00:42:26.019
near us because then if you do that we speak
00:42:26.019 --> 00:42:28.840
it in existence right even joking about it we
00:42:28.840 --> 00:42:31.280
don't even joke about it anymore there's still
00:42:31.280 --> 00:42:33.619
the occasional sly your girlfriend your boyfriend's
00:42:33.619 --> 00:42:35.699
calling or whatever like and I just always say
00:42:35.699 --> 00:42:39.670
I'm going to gents house yeah I should say I'm
00:42:39.670 --> 00:42:44.409
going to Britney's house. No, you don't get to
00:42:44.409 --> 00:42:49.429
do that. Yes. Yeah, I think that I think that
00:42:49.429 --> 00:42:54.789
there's a definition that's been created through
00:42:54.789 --> 00:42:57.949
thinking about how do we fight that fight? How
00:42:57.949 --> 00:43:00.210
do OK, so if fighting is a full time job, what
00:43:00.210 --> 00:43:03.510
does that look like? How do we do that? How do
00:43:03.510 --> 00:43:07.030
we persevere through that? There's parts of it
00:43:07.030 --> 00:43:10.230
that you can do alone, right? So i'll tell you
00:43:10.230 --> 00:43:13.909
the scripture um, uh from the bible roulette
00:43:13.909 --> 00:43:19.110
No, this is what um, it's it's a we've done this
00:43:19.110 --> 00:43:21.570
one before. Um, i'll show it to you if you'll
00:43:21.570 --> 00:43:28.510
bring it up. It's um Oh, it's on my phone. I
00:43:28.510 --> 00:43:31.929
don't want my tablet. Sorry. Come on man wasting
00:43:31.929 --> 00:43:38.739
time Is it Philippians? It's C O R I Corinthians
00:43:38.739 --> 00:43:47.960
13 4 through 8 This is a good one, I mean honestly,
00:43:47.960 --> 00:43:52.320
it's really good Which is it's talks about love
00:43:52.320 --> 00:43:55.880
what you're gonna put oh Every word that says
00:43:55.880 --> 00:44:00.139
love you're gonna put yeah Okay, so yeah, we've
00:44:00.139 --> 00:44:02.780
talked about this before. Yeah, not you and me
00:44:02.780 --> 00:44:06.610
specifically But yeah, but instead of so when
00:44:06.610 --> 00:44:09.309
I read the scripture take the word love out and
00:44:09.309 --> 00:44:13.630
replace it with your name Love is patient. Love
00:44:13.630 --> 00:44:16.409
is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast.
00:44:16.510 --> 00:44:19.610
It is not proud It does not dishonor others.
00:44:19.730 --> 00:44:23.389
It is not self -seeking. It's not easily angered
00:44:23.389 --> 00:44:27.530
Oops, it keeps no record of wrongs. Oops. We
00:44:27.530 --> 00:44:30.789
all got receipts Love does not delight in evil,
00:44:30.849 --> 00:44:33.690
but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,
00:44:33.889 --> 00:44:36.510
it always trusts, it always hopes, it always
00:44:36.510 --> 00:44:40.750
perseveres. Love never fails. But where there
00:44:40.750 --> 00:44:43.010
are prophecies, they will cease. Where there
00:44:43.010 --> 00:44:45.510
are tongues, they will be stilled. Where there
00:44:45.510 --> 00:44:48.769
is knowledge, it will pass away. So good, though,
00:44:48.849 --> 00:44:50.389
because I mean, it's just like, seriously, I
00:44:50.389 --> 00:44:52.809
mean, like. Well, if you want to examine where
00:44:52.809 --> 00:44:57.820
you are. In loving people. Yeah. That's how you
00:44:57.820 --> 00:45:00.139
decide. That's how you determine it, right? Do
00:45:00.139 --> 00:45:03.119
you have patience? I know I don't. Sometimes
00:45:03.119 --> 00:45:05.920
I do. No, I don't. I mean, I'm telling you right
00:45:05.920 --> 00:45:10.500
now, I ask the Lord, God, give me patience. Never,
00:45:10.500 --> 00:45:14.059
never, Jesus, no, no, no. Give me something else
00:45:14.059 --> 00:45:17.179
because I will never ask for patience. Just give
00:45:17.179 --> 00:45:21.969
me the guidance to get me through this. God will
00:45:21.969 --> 00:45:24.090
never rebuke you for asking for wisdom, right?
00:45:24.210 --> 00:45:27.750
He wants you to ask for his knowledge. And look,
00:45:28.269 --> 00:45:31.130
if you want to become more patient, which even
00:45:31.130 --> 00:45:33.110
though you don't ask for it, he knows in your
00:45:33.110 --> 00:45:34.969
heart that you need it, and so he's gonna give
00:45:34.969 --> 00:45:38.550
you reasons to be patient, right? God, give me
00:45:38.550 --> 00:45:41.059
courage. Is he gonna? Is he gonna keep you from
00:45:41.059 --> 00:45:43.039
conflict? No, he's gonna put you in the middle
00:45:43.039 --> 00:45:45.619
of conflict so that you can be courageous because
00:45:45.619 --> 00:45:48.460
you can't It's it comes with an action. Yeah,
00:45:48.460 --> 00:45:50.340
everything comes with an action. You don't get
00:45:50.340 --> 00:45:53.340
to just say i'm i'm courageous without doing
00:45:53.340 --> 00:45:55.280
anything Well, there's that question said today.
00:45:55.539 --> 00:46:00.460
What is love? action Love is an action, but you
00:46:00.460 --> 00:46:03.119
know what? Love is action, but you know what?
00:46:03.139 --> 00:46:05.760
It's so funny because you have to have love to
00:46:05.760 --> 00:46:09.079
be able to you know Your friends you have you
00:46:09.079 --> 00:46:11.039
have to love people you have to be there for
00:46:11.039 --> 00:46:15.460
people and you have to have that yeah Yeah, you
00:46:15.460 --> 00:46:18.440
can't love other there's I think you shared it
00:46:18.440 --> 00:46:22.119
recently on It probably wasn't on on our Facebook
00:46:22.119 --> 00:46:24.000
or anything, but it was on your when you send
00:46:24.000 --> 00:46:29.739
out scripture to people And I think I know we've
00:46:29.739 --> 00:46:31.940
talked about it before on here being you maybe
00:46:31.940 --> 00:46:34.539
not but I know I've talked about it before about
00:46:34.539 --> 00:46:39.360
there's part of one of the books of John or Peter.
00:46:39.599 --> 00:46:41.059
I don't remember which one where it says, don't
00:46:41.059 --> 00:46:43.940
just pretend to love people. Really love them.
00:46:44.019 --> 00:46:46.239
You have to learn to love people. You can't,
00:46:46.239 --> 00:46:49.420
you can't pretend man. This whole thing can't
00:46:49.420 --> 00:46:51.460
be lip service. It's just like a, Oh, I don't
00:46:51.460 --> 00:46:54.039
love him no more. How do you just fall out of
00:46:54.039 --> 00:46:56.880
love? You just can't do that. You can't tell
00:46:56.880 --> 00:46:58.840
me, you know, you love this one person one day
00:46:58.840 --> 00:47:00.300
and then you don't love another person. You touching
00:47:00.300 --> 00:47:03.320
a hot button topic. These people out here on
00:47:03.320 --> 00:47:06.179
these streets might argue with you. I just don't.
00:47:06.599 --> 00:47:09.280
Bring it because I don't believe in that. Come
00:47:09.280 --> 00:47:13.340
on. Hey, you and I both, you and I both have
00:47:13.340 --> 00:47:17.000
been in a situation where the opposing or the
00:47:17.000 --> 00:47:21.599
opposing, the spouse of the other side from our
00:47:21.599 --> 00:47:23.739
previous marriages said something similar to
00:47:23.739 --> 00:47:27.639
us both. I love you, but I'm not in love with
00:47:27.639 --> 00:47:30.820
you. Let me tell you something. Get off that.
00:47:32.019 --> 00:47:37.099
In love, in love is a crock of crap. End of discussion.
00:47:37.239 --> 00:47:39.219
It's something that happens early on. That's
00:47:39.219 --> 00:47:42.500
what they call the honeymoon phase It's everything's
00:47:42.500 --> 00:47:45.000
good at that point. Everything's glorious. Everything's
00:47:45.000 --> 00:47:47.760
fun. Everything's funny. Everything's Sex is
00:47:47.760 --> 00:47:50.639
great. Everything's good and then I might love
00:47:50.639 --> 00:47:52.420
you for this and I'm not living for that I might
00:47:52.420 --> 00:47:55.099
hate you for that but did I still love you for
00:47:55.099 --> 00:47:59.380
you in for everything? Yeah At the end of the
00:47:59.380 --> 00:48:01.239
day. You just don't fall out of love of people.
00:48:01.500 --> 00:48:05.519
I just don't understand that. To love someone
00:48:05.519 --> 00:48:08.420
in the way that we're talking about, it takes
00:48:08.420 --> 00:48:13.940
sacrifice. It takes an effort. You have to choose
00:48:13.940 --> 00:48:18.360
love. Yes. We piss each other off pretty frequently.
00:48:18.599 --> 00:48:21.500
Quite often. You know what's crazy? As much as
00:48:21.500 --> 00:48:23.380
we piss each other off, we don't fight all that
00:48:23.380 --> 00:48:26.900
much. No. But I know we get on each other's nerves
00:48:26.900 --> 00:48:30.010
a lot. Listen when you spend as much time as
00:48:30.010 --> 00:48:32.469
you do with another person you're gonna get on
00:48:32.469 --> 00:48:34.670
each other's nerves It just is a part of the
00:48:34.670 --> 00:48:37.289
situation it's like I said all the time if you
00:48:37.289 --> 00:48:40.090
don't if you're not fighting you're not growing
00:48:40.090 --> 00:48:45.590
Sorry everything requires you have to grow you
00:48:45.590 --> 00:48:49.929
have to grow Yep You gotta do how you gonna do
00:48:49.929 --> 00:48:52.889
that water it fighting you get you just it is
00:48:52.889 --> 00:48:56.130
what it is it takes some it takes some heat It
00:48:56.130 --> 00:48:59.090
takes some water It takes some love. It takes
00:48:59.090 --> 00:49:02.489
some patience. It takes a little, you know, some
00:49:02.489 --> 00:49:04.630
bugs nipping on you. It takes a little pruning.
00:49:04.909 --> 00:49:07.090
A little bit of dirt. All different types of
00:49:07.090 --> 00:49:11.309
ways that plants and things grow. And we are...
00:49:11.309 --> 00:49:13.150
Do you think plants aren't important? How many
00:49:13.150 --> 00:49:16.130
times did Christ compare himself to being a vine?
00:49:16.389 --> 00:49:19.389
Look at this tree. Look at that lily of the field.
00:49:19.710 --> 00:49:22.449
Look at the bird. Look, nature's important. It's
00:49:22.449 --> 00:49:25.389
an example to you. It's how you know this is
00:49:25.389 --> 00:49:28.179
true. Gotta be rooted somewhere. Gotta be rooted
00:49:28.179 --> 00:49:31.320
somewhere. And I'm rooted with you, baby. Okay.
00:49:33.239 --> 00:49:37.079
You need a joke? Yes. I got a good one. You should
00:49:37.079 --> 00:49:39.260
have a good one at this point. Yeah, I thought
00:49:39.260 --> 00:49:41.199
there was lots of them. You suck at this, man.
00:49:41.400 --> 00:49:46.559
You need to. I'm totally messing with you. I
00:49:46.559 --> 00:49:48.579
suck on my toes. Bear and share it, baby. Bear
00:49:48.579 --> 00:49:52.820
and share it. Okay, here we go with an answer
00:49:52.820 --> 00:50:00.190
first. Okay. They can find anything on the web
00:50:00.190 --> 00:50:11.650
Why are spiders so smart you stupid You can't
00:50:11.650 --> 00:50:17.250
call me stupid bro, I did you just did you Call
00:50:17.250 --> 00:50:21.170
me stupid bro. I did do that doesn't like used
00:50:21.170 --> 00:50:25.960
to be my favorite word dudes dudes Dudes. Oh
00:50:25.960 --> 00:50:29.579
my gosh. I can't believe I said that. Dudes and
00:50:29.579 --> 00:50:31.860
dudettes, huh? Yeah, Bonnie hates when I call
00:50:31.860 --> 00:50:34.300
her a dude. You're just mad that I got it. I
00:50:34.300 --> 00:50:39.460
am. It's because we all think intelligence comes
00:50:39.460 --> 00:50:44.119
from the internet. Yes. You got another one?
00:50:44.239 --> 00:50:51.130
Yes. Give me a minute. Oh. Too easy for you.
00:50:51.170 --> 00:50:54.130
I gotta give you this stuff. That's not true.
00:50:54.289 --> 00:51:01.869
I get my miss a lot Okay, here we go It was barking
00:51:01.869 --> 00:51:05.469
at the wrong tree the dude that was messing with
00:51:05.469 --> 00:51:11.349
me earlier No, oh Why don't why didn't the dog
00:51:11.349 --> 00:51:19.300
find the squirrel? Your dog Our oldest dog, he
00:51:19.300 --> 00:51:21.800
spends so much time barking up the wrong tree.
00:51:23.320 --> 00:51:26.840
I instantly pictured him at the back fence, barking
00:51:26.840 --> 00:51:29.159
at that up that cedar tree. I just want you to
00:51:29.159 --> 00:51:33.260
know, oh my dogs, they, I'm using the P word,
00:51:33.300 --> 00:51:37.360
they piss me off. Oh. In the mornings. Yeah.
00:51:37.460 --> 00:51:41.099
I'm not, I'm not half, I'm half awake and I'm
00:51:41.099 --> 00:51:43.159
like, dude, they all want to rush out the door
00:51:43.159 --> 00:51:45.239
and our door is not very big. It's like, it's
00:51:45.239 --> 00:51:48.269
like, like. It's a standard doors about three
00:51:48.269 --> 00:51:56.030
foot wide It's only Murphy it's only Murphy and
00:51:56.030 --> 00:52:00.869
he will hit Beltrae punch. It's like He's a pinball.
00:52:00.869 --> 00:52:03.369
Yeah. Yeah, and it's a back corner. They go to
00:52:03.369 --> 00:52:05.949
I don't know if that squirrel Knows what time
00:52:05.949 --> 00:52:07.389
we get it, but I don't know if he's waiting out
00:52:07.389 --> 00:52:11.429
that back fence going There's also cats roaming
00:52:11.429 --> 00:52:15.590
around out there just so you know and Beltrae
00:52:15.610 --> 00:52:19.670
Hates cats dude cat squirrels foxes anything
00:52:19.670 --> 00:52:21.949
that can be within his vicinity that he can't
00:52:21.949 --> 00:52:24.929
catch he hates them. I don't remember that When
00:52:24.929 --> 00:52:27.670
we live in Canyon he cut that cat right out of
00:52:27.670 --> 00:52:32.389
that tree And that guy goes you're paying the
00:52:32.389 --> 00:52:34.570
vet bill and that that dog pound told him he
00:52:34.570 --> 00:52:37.329
says Cats have to be on a leash to do and ours
00:52:37.329 --> 00:52:39.809
was but he just ripped it up out of the ground
00:52:39.809 --> 00:52:43.690
He showed in they tell you something So I was
00:52:43.690 --> 00:52:49.900
roughly 30 yards away, and seeing this happen
00:52:49.900 --> 00:52:52.960
when he went to snatch that cat off that tree,
00:52:54.380 --> 00:52:56.820
that was when I realized how big his damn teeth
00:52:56.820 --> 00:52:59.139
are. I was like, holy crap. And I told him, I
00:52:59.139 --> 00:53:01.699
said, drop it. And he did, and that cat was still
00:53:01.699 --> 00:53:05.380
going. Scratching the entire crap out of him.
00:53:06.119 --> 00:53:10.360
What am I supposed to do? He is scratching me.
00:53:10.460 --> 00:53:14.110
What? I'm like, well, back up, dummy. Go back
00:53:14.110 --> 00:53:17.449
over there That cat went up to the top of that
00:53:17.449 --> 00:53:19.449
telephone pole and didn't come down for two days
00:53:19.449 --> 00:53:25.869
two days and his owner was digged off I was like,
00:53:25.909 --> 00:53:29.429
ooh, savvy Put your cats on a leash, dork So
00:53:29.429 --> 00:53:31.329
if you ever have a big dog and you have those
00:53:31.329 --> 00:53:34.090
little screw things that go in the ground Yeah,
00:53:34.090 --> 00:53:36.130
don't use those for a big dog. It doesn't work.
00:53:36.289 --> 00:53:40.329
They might work for little dog not for What was
00:53:40.329 --> 00:53:43.340
he? 60 pounds he was probably about 60 or 70
00:53:43.340 --> 00:53:45.480
pounds at time and they were supposedly waited
00:53:45.480 --> 00:53:48.159
for him, but he snapped it quick Do you know
00:53:48.159 --> 00:53:51.159
don't and if you have it all do not use the wire
00:53:51.159 --> 00:53:56.739
ones get him a chain? Not a wire one that doesn't
00:53:56.739 --> 00:54:09.960
work those wire. He's This isn't exactly about
00:54:09.960 --> 00:54:15.119
community and stuff like that, which I know our
00:54:15.119 --> 00:54:18.599
conversation centered on, but it does kind of
00:54:18.599 --> 00:54:20.500
encircle some of the other things that we talked
00:54:20.500 --> 00:54:28.679
about. Anton, check off. Check it off. Check
00:54:28.679 --> 00:54:33.280
it off. Only during hard times do people come
00:54:33.280 --> 00:54:37.190
to understand how difficult it is. to be the
00:54:37.190 --> 00:54:41.289
master of their feelings and thoughts. Oh, that's
00:54:41.289 --> 00:54:43.730
good. Yes, people don't care. Some people don't
00:54:43.730 --> 00:54:47.230
care about other people's feelings and thinking
00:54:47.230 --> 00:54:50.070
about what we've been talking about. And you
00:54:50.070 --> 00:54:53.989
said how we can't do it alone. Right. How difficult
00:54:53.989 --> 00:54:56.769
is it to is it to master those emotions and those
00:54:56.769 --> 00:55:00.809
thoughts by yourself? Not right. It's not. And
00:55:00.809 --> 00:55:04.110
you don't even really understand it until you're
00:55:04.110 --> 00:55:07.690
there. Right and you're trying to overcome this
00:55:07.690 --> 00:55:11.190
difficulty Yeah, you got to have support guys.
00:55:11.349 --> 00:55:14.929

00:55:14.929 --> 00:55:18.550

part of it Give us questions. Give us things
00:55:33.280 --> 00:55:36.980
to talk about. Give us jokes. Give us wise sayings.
00:55:37.420 --> 00:55:42.019
We're open to everything. We know and we believe
00:55:42.019 --> 00:55:46.320
that relationship with Christ is the way, the
00:55:46.320 --> 00:55:48.579
